Allison is the owner and sole operator of Allison Edits, a home-based freelance editing company. Helping others succeed with their writing is a passion of hers, second only to that of blogging and writing speculative fiction with a macabre twist. She has had two short stories published, the first being “Aria,” a technological thriller that appeared in a horror anthology called The Black Garden in March of 2009. Her second published work, a classic horror tale called “Vermin,” appeared in the virtual pages of the genre fiction e-zine Reflection’s Edge in June of 2009. She has other short stories in circulation as well as several novel projects in various stages of completion.
Balancing the solitary duties of writing and editing with the demands of mothering two children is always a challenge, but it is the latter that provides her the inspiration she needs to do the former, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. Allison currently resides in Olympia, WA with her husband Ken, her two children Natalie and Elias, and her ginormous cat Angus. You may read her blog on the trade and craft of writing at http://allisoneditsblog.blogspot.com and her story “Vermin” at http://reflectionsedge.com/index.php/2009/06/vermin/.
