Never enough hours in the day or night :) Hubs mentioned last night that our little one doesn't know night from day yet and I laughed and replied that we don't either! I hope you find it less lonely as a working mum when your little one grows up a bit. I remember the lonely stage when our first daughter was a toddler but once your life has to revolve around school too there is an inevitable interaction with lots of other parents and it really does help a lot. I'll often go to toddler groups while the girls are at school and draw in corners if I'm short on deadline time and friends will help to look out for the little ones. I find that doing the occasional tea for the children's friends helps to get invites back when I need some extra hands too. I completely understand the guilt. I wonder if it's possible to be guilt-free as a parent?! The nice thing is that at least our children can appreciate what we do :) It is lovely drawing with kids as they get older. My daughters are my best art critics and Cara often gets inspired by my projects and zips off to do her versions (which are generally better lol). Great post and really got me thinking.

#4 I think is the biggest thing most people don't realize. Being creative in the middle of non-creatives is one thing, but then being a creative at home is even more sheltering. It's amazing how lonely it can get - no wonder so many of us get old and talk to ourselves -- really we're talking to our online friends out loud. :D
